Rush Summit 2019

SUMMIT2019

Rush Soccer’s Annual General Meeting, more commonly known as the Rush Summit, is coming to a close today after three days of networking and exchanging ideas on various topics related to club growth. Technical Directors and Rush Soccer National Staff members discussed topics ranging from Coach Education, the College Advisory Program (CAP), and Rush Select to topics on Marketing, Club Development and Operations.

Over 75 Rush staff from across the country attended the event in Colorado Springs, CO from Saturday, July 13th to Monday, July 15th. The Summit included networking and social events on Saturday with mountain biking and golf outings opening the weekend’s activities. In between seminars, attendees enjoyed additional time to further discuss topics, furthering their depth of knowledge and ideas to enhance the experience at their local clubs.

On the final day of the Summit, the mentees from the Mentor Program--a program that pairs Rush coaches with seasoned mentors in the club--presented what they have learned over the past year in the program. Led by Matt Saul, the Coach Education Director, the program affords additional networking opportunities for mentees, allowing them to see the breadth of the Rush Soccer organization and gain on-field coaching experiences with their mentors. Rush Fest, the annual soccer festival that occurs in the following days in Colorado Springs after the Summit, is the final event for the program before new mentees are nominated in August.

The 2019 Rush Summit was a success as new clubs in the Rush system were able to learn more about the Rush Way while long-standing member clubs were challenged to take back new ideas, resources and materials to facilitate growth for their local players and coaches.
